How to: Cause the 'CD Player' to play audio CDs automatically.
Solution:
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the <drive>:\WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\ACCESSORIES\MULTIMEDIA\ folder (where <drive> is the letter of the local hard disk) and right-click 'CD Player'. Click the 'Shortcut' tab and type /PLAY after the application path in the 'Target' box.
1) Open Windows Explorer:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs' and select 'Windows Explorer'. (The 'Exploring (<drive>:)' window appears, where <drive> is the letter of the local hard disk.)
2) Select the 'Tools' menu and select 'Go to'. (The 'Go To Folder' dialog box appears.)
3) Type the following in the drop-down list box and click 'OK':
\WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\ACCESSORIES\MULTIMEDIA
4) Select 'CD Player' from the 'Contents of Multimedia' list box.
5) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Properties'. (The 'CD Player Properties' dialog box appears.)
6) Click the 'Shortcut' tab. (The 'Shortcut' tabbed page appears.)
7) Type the following command in the 'Target' box:
C:\WINDOWS\CDPLAYER.EXE /PLAY
8) Click 'OK' to save the changes.
9) To exit Windows Explorer, select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
